Engineer profile: MSF/MFE/Internships

Hey,

I'm 23 years old, and next year I'm getting my engineer master. I'm in a very selective program that focuses on science and music (research on sound, etc…), so even though I don't have a business background, I have engineer level in quant and got to work with a lot of people coming from different fields. Last year I have been taking a mathematics course in a market finance master and got really good results (ranked 3). I have been collecting a lot of informations on finance through friends and professionals, and have come to the conclusion that my goal is to break into IB in the US. An MSF seems to be the best option for me, however I have some questions and it would be great to have your opinions on some points. - I do not want to end up a quant, but I'm wondering if in my situation I would get a more prestigious MFE that would give me more chance to break into IB than a less prestigious MSF (should I apply to both ?) - It seems to be difficult to come work in the US after having followed and MSF in UK/EU, but is it still possible for top schools ? (should I apply to really prestigious programs in UK/EU ?) - I have seen that a lot of great MSF like students with internships. Due to my lack of business background, could I apply to an MSF next year or should I spend a year as an unpaid intern in small shops, and then get an MSF ? I really want to break into IB, I don't bother starting working later. - I have come to consider the following programs, am I missing some witch would give me chances of breaking into IB ? MIT, CMC, Vandy, WUSTL, UVA, Nova, BC, SMU, Tulane, UTA (+Duke)
