European vs US MBA - What's important?

Hi,

From what I've read, top US MBA programmes place a lot of focus on diversity and the applicants' story + essays. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Is this different for LBS & INSEAD and other top European MBA programmes? I can imagine French business schools to care much more about GPA and GMAT, for example, and a BB IB or MBB background.

I'm asking, because what I lack in preftige, I make up for in internationalism and an interesting story and being European and having my family in Europe (been living in an emerging market for a while and "yolo") I would prefer attending a European MBA.

Thanks !
