Evaluate my chances for MSc Finance

My Profile:

  • Business student at a London Uni (Think UCL/KCL etc)
  • 3 Spring weeks in my first year
  • Summer this year at an EB (Think Torch/Rothschild/Lazard etc)
  • First year average 49% and 2nd year average 71% (I know first year is really low)
  • Expecting GMAT 680+ (hopefully 710)
  • Minority (Think middle eastern isch)
  • Got solid ECs

Will be applying to following MSc Finance/MiM at: LBS/LSE/HEC

I’d say you have pretty solid chances except for your first year grades. Do you have any extenuating circumstances to explain that?

Your GMAT also isn’t that high, but most schools in the UK don’t require it. However if you can get that up to a more impressive score it might make up for your low grades in year 1.

All else is good, especially your work experience.

Thanks for you opinion. Nope, do not have an explanation to be honest, came from an entirely different education system so not going to lie struggled in the beginning but did extremely well in my 2nd year in my opinion.

Will try to smash my GMAT, got 680 on my mock so should be able to get 700+ if I just keep on going. Thanks for your input.
