Fixed quote for recruiting MBAs
Have you heard that there is a fixed quota set to recruit students from PTMBA programs in business schools, such as by MBBs, Big 4s, and so on, even though the recruiting is advertised as being all inclusive and free from discrimination from FTMBAs? Heard about this from a student who is related to someone in the recruiting/career coaching team of a Tier 1 b-school? Assuming that this may be the case since PTMBA programs at tier 1 universities often do not participate in the internship recruiting cycle and as a result, consulting companies only hire a set number of students from these PTMBA programs. Is this the unchanging truth? Is pursuing a part-time MBA ultimately ineffective, just in case someone tries?
