GMAT / GRE considerations as a Senior
Incoming analyst at a MM and have heard it would be wise to knock the gmat out of the way my senior year since it’s good for 5 years. Does anyone have recommendations on best prep courses? Considerations in GRE vs GMAT? And is it worth pursuing the deferred MBA? Thanks!
GMAT is preferred by the finance industry *in general*, exceptions apply. I would be aware of the changes from the GMAT 10.0 to GMAT focus, the scoring system differences, and changes in material. It is hard to really go wrong though. Princeton, etc. are all good resources, but I would study on your own, see your weaknesses, work on them, and then take an in-person class if you need help on finer minutiae.
Do the one you believe you can score the best in. They both have their unique challenges. If you’re stronger on quant do the GMAT. If you’re weaker on quant and better at verbal do the GRE. GRE is more punishing on mistakes keep that in mind.
