GMAT vs GRE

I read an article about GMAT removing a writing section and the growing popularity of GRE. Harvard also added a writing test to supplement GMAT applicants for this reason.

What are everyone's thoughts on GMAT vs GRE post this change?

Depends on where your strengths lie. The GMAT rewards the mathematically inclined, while the GRE is better suited for those that excel in verbal. This is all the more true with the new GMAT Focus, which effectively added in a second math-based section in the form of Data Insights. This significantly dilutes the impact of the Verbal score compared to the previous Quant/Verbal weighting, spelling disaster for those that rely on Verbal to boost their final tally.

To infinity... and beyond!

GRE also has a calculator and GMAT does not.
