Gonna Have a Lot of Free Time Until July

I'm a senior entering my final semester. I've accepted a Public Finance offer at an NYC BB, and barring any massive fuck up, I should graduate with around a 3.90 - 3.94. I only have one class I need to graduate, and although I will still take 4 in order stay full-time and keep my parents' health insurance, I still anticipate having a lot of free time.

Obviously, I plan on using some of that time to have a blast and live it up. I also will dedicate a decent effort to studying for the GMAT. But other than that, what type of things can I do to set myself up for the future, both regarding B-School and just general success?

Should I start reaching out to people at the schools I'd be interested in (INSEAD, HKUST, Haas, Columbia, LBS, Tuck, etc), just to begin starting a relationship? Or people at firms I'd be interested in as an exit op?

Any way to prepare for essays or recommendations?

Would volunteering or doing research be worth the effort?

I'm gonna travel and party and everything, but I'd also feel comfortable using some of the time in a productive way. Especially since I had a harder time than it needed to be getting this job than if i had been on top of the process all along.

Same boat. I'd be interested in knowing what other people will be doing next semester.

-I plan on studying for the GMAT. -Maybe pick up a paid internship to get some FCF. -Research B-schools and their respective applications. -Ensure I am completely comfortable with MS offices applications.

Besides what's already been mentioned, you may also be interested in trying to learn a new language. Its the kind of thing (I would think) many people would like but find it difficult to do later on life because of lack of time.

Trying to learn a new language between now and July might be enjoyable, but I highly doubt you would make much headway as far as being able to speak it in such a short time. If anything, I would brush up on a language that you already have some knowledge of to begin with.

I graduate in 7 days and have 7 months before I start at my firm... I plan on traveling, and taking time out to do things I will miss in the coming 2 years... enjoy the time man... do what you want to do and just crush it... get as much living in as you can because it's a great time in life to have an offer locked up and have no real worries in the interim...
