Has anyone completed a Part-Time/Online PhD in finance/economics while working full-time on the street?
Monkeys, I'm thinking about pursuing a PhD in finance/economics and I don't want to quit my job. Has anyone done this before? Are there good schools that provide this? Thanks.
Bump. Have heard of someone that did one from a school in Costa Rica (dead serious)
My gf has an Econ PhD and believe me, it was a full-time job in itself. She believe she worked harder in her first year than she should have in banking (and she spent a summer at a top group in undergrad so she knows what she is talking about). Even when you pass your qualifiers, it's not a walk in the park and I imagine the commitment might drive you crazy. I also don't think top schools take PT students (and you need to go to a top 10 school if you want your PhD to have any value).
I just googled this quickly to verify, but you can't do a part-time or online PhD in finance in the United States. The programs don't exist. Maybe look into a DBA instead?
