HELP: how to answer schools/applications asking "do you know anyone in our community"
Most schools in the application will ask about a candidate's current connections to the school's community (i.e. current students, alumni, faculty, etc.). What are these schools looking for here? And what really counts as a connection?
If I've spoken to current students via email/phone by acquiring their contact details on the school's website, does this count? By doing this, I've had some very helpful/insightful conversations with students, but do admissions committees count this as a legitimate connection to the school's community? Do they reach out to those individuals identified to validate how 'genuine' the connection is?
That absolutely counts. MBA graduates from a school are the school's products. Networking is a huge reason why people go get an MBA.
Thanks for the response :)
