Help With Cold Emails/Recruiting - Target School but no response

Hi,

I am a sophomore at a target school (Harvard/Yale/Princeton/Wharton/Columbia/UChicago). I did not get into any of the competitive finance clubs on campus, but I am involved in some newer clubs. My cold-emailing is just absolutely terrible. It's been two weeks, and I've sent out 100 emails, but I have only gotten two responses (one saying we should talk at an upcoming info session and go from there, and another telling me to check in later). I was wondering if there's something wrong with my email format:

Hi Name,

My name is [NAME, and I'm a sophomore at X University studying X. I came across your profile on LinkedIn and saw that you're part of X's Investment Banking team and [an X alum or whatever connection].

I would love to know more about your experience and time at X. If you have 15-20 minutes in the next couple of weeks to talk, I would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. I'm happy to work around your schedule.

Best,

Name

I feel like everyone around me is so much farther ahead and is so much more successful in their outreach that I have to be doing something wrong. What advice do you guys have? With no finance clubs with strong club alumni networks, what firms should I target? A lot of the people around me are in competitive clubs and have a mentor/upperclassman who is helping them in the process, and I feel really lost. If anyone has any help or assistance, I would be really grateful, but I'm feeling really lost and unmotivated. Is it really the club connection that matters now?
