How can I get or do I even have a chance to get into IB if I have poor grades in under grad?

I know I messed up in my under graduation, I had my reasons but again, it doesn't matter as at the end. I scored 2.1 gpa in more than 4 years. Yes, more than 4 years, but I was too far before realising, even though I'm trying to get my life around since then. Worked in IT industry for 4 years and   hospitality industry for 1 year. I don't know how I developed interest in IB, but I do now and want to pursue it. I'm already learning the basics for the foundation. I already know few people lot more older than me in the IB industry(knew them before I was even thinking about IB). But before even seeking their help, rather than blowing the whole thing, I want to know for myself if I have a chance of making a career in the field? Would it be okay if I make up this by doing a MBA finance with exceptional grades and giving exams like CFA or a GMAT? Any answers would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
