How Many Jobs is Too Many Pre-MBA?
Didn't see much discussion around this topic. How many jobs (not counting internal transfers) is too many before applying to an MBA program? Obviously this depends on context like age, type of job, and more, but, is 2-3 the sweet spot assuming 3-6 years of work experience pre-MBA?
My take is that staying in more than one job for less than 12-18 months is a red flag since it shows that you're indecisive and a bit of a job hopper. Moving jobs that don't show some sort of progression in responsibility and/or type of work is another flag, in my opinion, as that seems like someone is just moving for the sake of it and not with a purpose.
Mostly curious because I'm considering another move that I consider to be progressive, but it's at a lesser known firm, and it'd be my 3rd job in 3.5 years of work experience. Planning on applying to grad schools next year (2020 matriculation) and was wondering what others thought.
From what I've seen, I'd say the average is 1 job for every 2-3 years on average
