How much does school matter in on-cycle?
Basically title. Assume 4.0 gpa non-target that did both soph and junior summer in a highly regarded BB Coverage group (think GS Industrials, JPM HC) and have solid deal experience to talk about. Will I be able to shoot for MF and high-tier value funds (Oaktree, Ares, etc)? Is UMM pretty safe?
Also, does diversity help at all? URM male.

Assuming you don’t trip up the HH meetings, you should be fine. URM should definitely help. Might be a bit harder to get into the most prestige-focused funds like Bain but you should be in a very good spot.
