big money with social ladder climbing, a lot.
It depends.
It'll never be the main reason you're not getting promoted.
It matters because your school is a strong, lifelong network that you'll likely tap into when you're trying to source business, deals, investor capital, and whatever else. It also never really stops being a proxy for "intellect" in most of these high prestige jobs. No one's analyzing rankings and sorting schools into tiers though, not when you're 5-10 years out.
