How relevant is everything covered in training? How did you do?

How did training go for you guys? 

There are quite a few things I haven't heard in university, especially during some M&A Accounting tasks and some special valuation situations. Is it normal to feel a bit lost? 
 

I feel like attending training is really technical, while when you hit the desk you anyway just do a lot of research / ppt etc.
