How to be less defensive in the workplace?
Current undergrad intern here in a FO role. I just got told by my manager that I have an issue with being defensive a lot when my mistakes get pointed out. How do I deal with that? I think one reason is that I'm not trying to look bad and lose my offer chances (probably blew that by being defensive) so I try to deflect blame on careless mistakes on situational things.
Don’t deflect blame, ask for critiques, ask if xyz would make it better, don’t blame it on anything else unless it actually is clearly something else.
