How to Make the Most of a 2-Year Master’s at a Target School?

For anyone who's done a 2-year non-MBA master's at a top school—how did you approach internships? Did you go all in on winter, summer, spring and off-cycle internships, or was it better to focus on just one or two high-impact ones?

Also, is it better to wait until the second year for a major internship, or do firms actually hire first-year master’s students? Would love to hear from people who’ve been through this!
