HSW —> RX IB

Currently at HSW and very interested in RX banking. Worked at a small family office managing the credit fund, and worked at a small RX consulting firm over the summer. I loved my time there and am keen on RX now. I’m also in the master in law program at my school, so I will be able to take all the bankruptcy courses in the future.

However, I have heard very mixed things about the difficulty of landing RX post-school. As of now, my technicals aren’t great and I feel time is short to master M&A + RX. I have also heard spots are extraordinarily limited. Thoughts on just going for it?

I am hearing extraordinarily mixed opinions. Both bankers and 2Ys have either told me it’s definitely possible or very, very difficult and unlikely right now. I have been told “it takes at least 6 months to fully prep M&A + RX, so you don’t have the time to even try”. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of straightforward info on RX
