IB Entrance from non-target / semi-target school

Hello all, I'm sure this is a common reoccurring post, but please humor me. I'm going to be a freshman this fall 2025 at the College of William and Mary and majoring in finance through the Mason business school. From what I have heard, the school is prestigious, but not a crazy target for IB, since UVA heavily outweighs it. Besides acquiring early internships at local boutique banks and getting good grades, any special advice? I've already considered transferring to UVA / Mcintire following my first year and would like to know if that is recommended. Thanks all.
