IBD to MPP (and what on earth do the MPP admin staff look for?)

Hey Monkeys,

Wondering if anyone managed to break in from IBD into doing the MPP at a top grad school in the US?

Would love to hear more about what the MPP admin staff are looking for in applications and how to make myself stand out?

Just as a background - graduated from top UK university (LSE/Oxbridge) and working in top invesment bank (MS/JPM/GS etc) in London.

One of my bosses did a MPP after a long career in IBD (MS/JPM/GS) and is now working for a top NGO. Given your profile, I doubt you would have much difficulty getting into a top MPP program as long as you can show that you are serious about transitioning to a non-profit career. I think MPP program's like people like you (who come from IBD and have work and academic pedigree) as it gives diversity to their class and also makes them feel better about themselves.
