Importance of Diversity in On Campus Recruiting

When compared to MBA Admissions, how much do on campus recruiters focus on diversity (ethnic, experience, gender, etc.) when hiring? More so? Less so?

I am talking specifically about recruiting from M7.

Banks have a ton of "diversity programs" and they have separate email addresses/phone numbers to contact for "diverse" applicants" which helps you to get lots of round 1 interviews. Given the amount of competition, diverse candidates are probably helped out more when searching for a job out of the M7 then they are helped out during admissions - because of admission's consideration to stats (not saying minority=lower score, but typically they are let in with slightly lower scores) more so than banks who care a ton about "fit" and genuinely value diversity for the purposes of creating more business and making more money.

Diversity candidates definitely have a leg up through the minority focused programs (targeted for racial minorities, females, military, etc.). Most pre-summer programs are focused on them, even if they don't say it (take a look at P&G summer camp group picture, very few non-minorities). Many of my minority classmates already interviewed for internships (one even has an offer).
