Importance of Masters (postgrad) for IB
Hi. I was wondering how important a masters is if you want to get into investment banking, specifically in Europe. I heard from some places it is possible if you have a strong undergrad degree from a strong university like Cambridge or LSE but from others that it is impossible unless you have a masters in a something like finance. Would other factors such as previous internships and your interview / university grades mean more or is a masters completely essential. Could really use some help!
In Europe, pursuing a master's degree is often considered essential for breaking into investment banking, especially if you're targeting top-tier firms. Unlike the U.S., where undergraduates can often secure roles directly, the European market places a higher emphasis on postgraduate education.
