Is B School the Right Choice for Me?

Hi all!

Little about me- current BigLaw M&A attorney (with a dash of M&A experience) at a top NYC firm (V5) considering applying to B School. Took the GMAT immediately after undergrad and scored a 720 with a 47 Verbal and 41 Quant. Graduated with a sub 3.0 GPA from undergrad but graduated from law school with a 3.4 (top third of my class). I have about 3 years of WE and retained multiple leadership roles on campus and engaged in a variety of community service activities. Additionally, I have 0 student loans from either undergraduate or law school (multiple scholarships).

My ultimate goal is to break into private equity in an investment seat.

100% am trying to avoid anything IBanking related. Prior to B School, my plan is to apply to MBB as an experienced/advanced degree hire and then either going to B School to recruit into PE OR just trying to make the jump into PE.

Given the above, my question is: 1) Is an MBA worth it? and, if so, 2) What schools should I realistically be applying to?

Can you afford to go to b-school, or taking loans? Cravath scale says 3rd year is 307k. So 307k*2 and 150k for tuition. It's a lifestyle call - do you dislike law enough that you want to have a hard reset and be paying 3/4 a mil for it.

In better markets than today you could probably lateral to MBB. Getting into PE regardless of MBA affiliation is a question mark.
