Is Business School admittance conditional on continued employment?

Just got accepted to one of my target schools (woohoo!) Can I quit my job yet? Nothing I find in the information or admissions package says that the acceptance is conditional on continued employment... does that mean I'm free? Do b-schools generally have a policy on this?

Agree - you are almost certainly in the clear. Don't see how they can back out of it. Or how they would even find out. But why would you quit?

I think you are technically clear - however, remember that post-MBA employers will see this gap in your work history and asked it to be explained. "I dicked around for six months before b-school" probably won't cut it.

actually many people once admitted quit and travel before b-school. Quitting in Feb when school starts in August is a bit of a stretch, but not unheard of. Most quit in May and travel before orientation.

post-mba employers are well aware of the excitement that comes with admission to a top school and the willingness of students to do something meaninful outside of work prior to matricualtion. Much of this is often looked favorably upon. Don't listen to the advice of pre-mba analysts who have no basis for their opinions.

Good luck and congrats!

I say stick it out a couple more months, but don't kill yourself every night. Get to the gym more, get more sleep, etc.

It doesn't matter at all. I quit my job sooner that I listed because circumstances change. Once you're accepted, they can't renege your offer because you quit a month early.

I quit three months early. Enjoyed life. Started school and recruiting. Hated life. Finished recruiting. Back to enjoying life.
