Is ESSEC MiF target for IB in London?

I will be finishing my bachelor degree in China this June and will be joining the MiF program in ESSEC in August. I plan to prepare for the recruitment of 2025 summer internship in London. Is ESSEC MiF enough for me to pass the CV screen? I have 3 internships so far, including an E&Y audit, an ER, an IB. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, ESSEC is considered a strong school but not necessarily a top target for investment banking (IB) in London compared to schools like LSE or LBS. However, having ESSEC on your CV, especially with your solid internship experiences in E&Y audit, Equity Research (ER), and Investment Banking (IB), should be sufficient to pass the CV screening phase for a summer internship in London.

Your previous internships add significant value to your profile, demonstrating relevant industry experience and skills. To further enhance your chances:

  1. Networking: Actively network with professionals in the industry. Utilize LinkedIn, alumni networks, and any connections you may have. Networking can significantly increase your chances of getting an interview.

  2. CV Optimization: Ensure your CV is tailored to IB standards in London. Highlight your relevant experiences, skills, and achievements. Use action verbs and quantify your accomplishments where possible.

  3. Preparation for Interviews: Start preparing for the technical and behavioral aspects of IB interviews. Utilize resources like WSO's interview guides and practice financial modeling and valuation.

  4. Leverage ESSEC's Resources: Utilize ESSEC's career services and alumni network to connect with industry professionals and seek advice on navigating the recruitment process in London.

While ESSEC may not be the top target, your proactive approach and preparation can maximize your chances of securing an internship in IB in London.
