Is £10,000 for Postgrad Application Tutoring Worth It?

I'm currently in the process of applying to some top-tier postgraduate programs, including schools like LSE, LBS, and a few others. As you can imagine, the competition is intense, and I'm not sure I really stand a chance since my undergrad while a First, comes from a non-target uni.

I've been considering using a professional application consulting service, specifically The Profs, but I've seen others out there as well. The cost for their full package, which includes everything from personal statement help to interview prep, is around £10,000. That's a significant amount of money, and I'm wondering if it's actually worth it.

Has anyone here used The Profs or any similar service for their postgrad applications? If so, what was your experience like? Did you feel that the service genuinely improved your application, and did you ultimately get into the schools you were targeting?

I'm particularly interested in whether the investment truly pays off, especially when it comes to competitive programs at elite institutions. Any insights, recommendations, or even alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

So you are saying it’s not normal to use these kinds of services to get an edge, and people generally just write their whole applications themselves?
