Is transferring from a lower semi-targethttps://www.wallstreetoasis.com/user/1337382 SEC state school to a Target School worth it?
Incoming freshman at a SEC state school hoping to break into IB. The school (UGA) places well however only roughly 30-40 kids place into IB per year. Should I bother transferring, or dominate at UGA? My main concerns are that as a transfer it would be harder to get into IB clubs on campus even at a target school. Is this a valid concern or no?
Staying pros:
1. Better Social Life
2. Could possibly make more money staying in IB in the south vs NYC
3. I've heard PE and some IB recruiters look down upon transfers
4. Heard target school IB clubs are extremely hard to get into as a transfer
Staying Cons:
1. General prestige is poor
2. Pretty poor placements, although is possible to place well with hard work
3. Doesn't place that much into NYC
4. Might hinder PE recruiting even if I break into IB
I would take any advice I can get. Thank you.

Try transferring to a school like Emory or vanderbilt
Would add transfer friendly targets (Michigan, Cornell, UVA maybe?). Could also shoot your shot at Penn and the like, has been done.
Would you say it's worth it? Cost isn't a big issue, but in hopes of landing an IB job should I 100 percent look to transfer?
