Is withdrawing from a class worse then a class taking a hit to the GPA.

I am currently a freshman at a small private school in Texas looking to go into IB. I am taking Macro right now and just had a test I bombed. I was sitting at an A but it took me down to a B-, the highest possible grade I can get is a B+ which is reasonable but a stretch. Should I take the W and take a summer course? If I continue with the class I will end up with a 3.55-3.6 GPA but if I take the W I will likely end the semester in the mid 3.8s. Should I take the W or finish the course?

Bump is this true? How important are individual grades and W?

No one cares about a W. Emphasis is on cGPA.
