Presume you mean "Ivy Insight."  ("Ivy Insights" with an "s" is a placement firm for Ivy grads looking for software development jobs.)

Ivy Insight's office is a mile or so away from my home.  They're admissions consultants.  For a hefty fee they optimize the client's college prep and applications.  This includes advice on HS course selection, EC guidance, test prep, and ghostwriting ("editing") essays.  Ivy Insight's special sauce is a program where for $5K they place you with some mercenary professor to get credit for a "research project."  That gives you an idea of how ethically questionable this industry and this particular business is.

The industry in general has a very bad reputation since a huge scandal a couple years ago (google "Varsity Blues scandal"). The benefit of using a firm like this is questionable, since admissions officers at the top schools can usually tell if a consultant was used, and may well ding an applicant on that basis.  Alarms go off for "white privilege."

In this wealthy suburban area, parents are desperate to get their kids into prestigious schools and will gladly pay huge amounts of money if they think it buys their kid an edge.
