JHU vs Columbia

Currently a freshman at JHU. My impression is that it’s definitely on the rise here with the student run fund here placing pretty well.

With that being said, I recently got accepted a transfer to Columbia and was wondering if it might be worth it to transfer given that it’s an Ivy and a much stronger target.

I'd transfer to Columbia. JHU is obviously a good school but Columbia is generally better across the board, outside of pre-med and maybe a couple of STEM-related disciplines. Columbia has a much better finance network. NYC location helps and can lead to a lot of fun, albeit maybe not the traditional college experience. Idk about you but I'd 100x rather be in NYC than in Baltimore.

Ngl, it irks me when people shit on BYU. It’s a great school with a phenomenal network. Loved every aspect of my experience there and would be completely happy staying there if I didn’t have the opportunity to study at Columbia.
