Law school for future political aspirations?

Hi everyone - I am considering applying for and attending a top-tier law school after 2 years in UMM PE. Have always been interested in the law intellectually and want to run for office down the line -- it seems like law school is a useful credential that signals prestige and competence to voters (could be wrong about this).

However, I would not want to actually practice law and would want to go back to finance after graduating. Not sure if going to law school would actually hurt my chances of recruiting for an investing role after graduation.

Any advice? Massive thanks!
