LBS MAM networking

Hi all, looking to make the most out of my year at LBS. Want to break into MC, but also looking to keep my options open. Any resources I can leverage to increase my chances and make the most of my time there? Can provide more if needed!

non-target, non-trad undergrad (but econ), data analyst internship.

I'm also stuck on the process of messaging alumni and relevant contacts for networking...like do I just 'get to know them'? Is it possible to pursue IB at the same time? Unsure of the load this will be and if it is acceptable considering the application window.

TIA

Hey, I'm also going LBS this year (mim). Semi-target ug, stem

Just reach out to alumni, ask claude or chatgpt for some stuff you should ask. Feel around the bush, try to frame the conversation in a sense you're understanding what they do at their job, their process getting in, and a little bit about their personality/character.

I only reached out to alumni last week (cold messaging on linkedin), and I've had maybe a 50-60% success rate in getting responses - so go for it! If I'm having decent responses back, I'd imagine you should be too. Filter out on linkedin and message those that are junior/mid level in career, I just had a coffee chat with one yesterday whose in (M)BB.
