LSE General Course

Hi there,

I'm thinking about applying for the general course at LSE, and I've got a couple of questions on my mind. First off, I'm curious about the prospects of landing a sponsored job in finance or consulting after finishing the general course. Is it likely?

Additionally, I've heard that completing the general course might enhance your chances of getting into the master's program. Is there any truth to this?

If there's anyone out there who has recently completed the general course, I'd really appreciate it if you could shoot me a DM. I'd love to learn more about your experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, people do get sponsorship for full time roles. Also because you have the student visa for a year, you can do a summer internship in London without needing a visa (most banks sponsor for that anyways) and then can convert to a full time role

You do get a discount on the masters (I think 20%?) if you do the General Course. Not sure if there is a direct increase in chances of getting into the masters but if you do well in the courses and engage with your tutors/professors and your department director it can only help. There are multiple people I know that did the General Course then went on to do their masters at LSE in various subjects (economics, finance, and more - lots of subjects)
