Masters in Finance vs MBA ?

Eventually considering finance to be the one I would like to work in, would a degree in finance from Tier 1 universities (European[Oxford,LSE,LBS] or M7) be very hard to be admitted into? And even if I do get in how does it compare to an MBA from the same colleges ?

I feel it should present similar if not the same opportunities as an MBA (if I could break in). But still, I would like to know what you guys think.
