MBA Admission Consultants for Top 3 MBA?

Thinking about MBA at H / S / Wharton and want to see if there is any MBA admission consultants who have experience in the traditional pre-MBA profile (think of it as 2 years investment banking 2 years of buy side) or any advice to maximize chance? Appreciate the advice!

Having worked closely with some of the brand name MBA consultants, I'd say that Menlo is the best as far as a top of the line experience and a firm that will increase your odds of admission. Many of the other bigger brand name MBA consultancies are just volume plays meaning they're trying to funnel as many candidates in as possible for each application round. Many years ago when I was interviewing firms to work with, I had one of the notable ones get my name/entire application mixed up with someone else (despite them insisting they had spoken with me before) and then proceed to bucket me into the PE candidate group and give me 30 min of generic info before telling me to purchase an unlimited admissions pack to apply to a bunch of schools in the T20...

Menlo is like an Elite Boutique and they hold to a high standard of capacity constraints for each of their coaches and turn away candidates if they don't have capacity to fully work with an individual.

I would say it’s probably very consultant dependent. If they match with founders then great. But have heard experience matching with consultant that has been not so helpful and downplaying chances so that you will sign them. And with almost $20K fees for them now, there are lots of boutique shops / individual consultants who jump out from famous big shop that will be helpful. I will say the first two schools are the ones you spend most of your time. Also no matter working with which firm please make sure you know who you are working with. It’s always a problem for firms that match you with consultants.
