MBA school suggestion please?

Hi, I am hoping to get a MBA (and break into IB/consulting). I am a science PhD grad (got my undergrad from the same UK non-target uni, but is respectable for science). I scored 700 in my first GMAT attempt 2 years ago and only had 2 years of science work experience (very average, nothing exciting).

May I ask:

1) I am 28 now, is it too late to try to break in?

2) Given my very average profile, may you please suggest some schools that will be suitable?

3) Should I retake GMAT? I don't think I can score much higher...

i've seen age 30+ mba associates. not uncommon. but the important question is: do you have work experience. you won't get into an mba program without it. also, depending on the subject you have a phd in, you might be able to go straight into consulting for the related sector. you’ve been in school long enough…
