MBA Summer recruiting - SF vs LA

Going to Stanford GSB in the fall, and thinking about recruiting for IB. I’m debating between applying in LA or SF. For personal reasons I’d somewhat prefer LA, but SF is fine too.

LA might be easier due to lower competition than SF, but I’ve also heard offices in LA (eg. GS/MS) are significantly smaller than SF, which means they hire less and it may actually be harder to break in.

Any insights here?
