MiM CEMS into IB?

Do people get into IB with a CEMS MiM from top universities? (Canada or USA; I plan to study in Cornell through the CEMS program) I have the opportunity to pursue MiM CEMS from Ivey business school canada any insights on this will be really helpful, thank you!

background about me: Finance undergrad (one of the top schools in India; 9.71GPA/10) Corporate finance internship at India's most valued company 8 months management trainee at a leading regional FMCG center. CFA Level 1 candidate

As a fellow CEMSie I can attest that it is possible. CEMS focuses much more on consulting and corporate development (just look at the CEMS corporate partners, the only IBs you have are EU MMs). My cohort sent MANY more people to MBBs than to IB. One person I can think of went to mid-tier BB and that's about it. I would recommend and MFin for IB as it'll give you much better chances.

The point above is correct, the CEMS is much more of a consulting feeder than IB, although it is feasible especially if you are combining it with a strong finance background (Bachelor's and/or Master's).

Although you did not ask specifically about this, I would caution you against expecting US & CA offers from doing the CEMS there. Getting a visa/sponsorship remains very complicated.

Limited view, sadly, so hopefully somebody with a better view on the current process can answer.

As far as I know/knew, you need a sponsor and it is relatively hard to find a company to do that. Potentially recruiting out of Ivey might be easier, but it still seems relatively complicated.
