Minor/ Major selection (Canada)

I am thinking about doing a major in either finance or some form of economics, as well as a major or minor in applied math or stats.

Which one of these combinations would be most beneficial to breaking into finance? My dream job would probably be in PE or corporate banking.

I should note that I am currently 28 and will be 32 when I graduate. I understand my age may create difficulty breaking in so I am curious as to which combo some of you would consider the most valuable to have. Right now I am leaning towards a double major in both finance and stats.

Thank you!
