Moving from SF to NYC for Business School

Hi all - looking for some advice. I have been working at a large bank in San Francisco for the last 3 years and with the support and approval of my team, I just got accepted to NYU Stern for the part-time MBA program.

I know the part-time program is a bit of a cash cow but getting an MBA is something I've always wanted to do and I'm not looking for a career pivot, so I didn't think doing a full-time MBA was necessary, plus most of my part-time MBA is being paid for which is huge. Classes will be twice a week from 6-9pm so I know my workload is going to be insane but it's still something I've wanted.

Anyway, I now need to move to New York in January. There are a few members of my team who sit in the NYC office, so it'll be nice to not be completely on my own there. The problem is that I have my SF apartment through the end of March 2024.

Should I try to find a cheap sub-lease in NYC from January through March, so I don't have to play full-blown double rent for those three months? My SF apartment is about $2.2k a month and I can cover those three months with my savings if needed. Just looking for some advice on how I can best plan my move. Ideally, I would find a sub-lease that's furnished so I wouldn't have to ship my furniture all the way across the country, and I can just sell the things I have in SF. My SF apartment does not allow me to sublease my unit which is annoying. To end my lease early would cost 2 months' rent up-front. Are there any sites that are useful for finding people who are subleasing their space? Should I try to find roommates, etc.?
