MSc Finance or Tier 3 IB/AM

Hypothetical situation...If you came out of undergrad with okay career prospects but not great. You're end goal is to be a PM at either a HF or AM. You got offered a job in finance but it wasn't really what you wanted to do or at a mid level firm would you take it or is it better to go to B-school for overall career prospects...bearing in mind you wouldn't go back to do an MBA as would probably just do the CFA....

What would you do!?

Take the job. You can work for a year or two, gain the experience and then go do a masters if you really don't like it. The work experience will help you get into a better program also. I'd imagine AM is less structured than say banking and they might consider an MSc to be equivalent to an MBA depending on the program you go into.
