MSF Decisions: Texas vs Villanova vs WUSTL- Singapore

New member here. I am trying to gauge some reactions about these programs. Background on me. I am international student and a recent graduate of a semi-target.

Being international, I am kinda nudging towards the WUSTL-Singapore program since I know how difficult it is currently for internationals students to get a job in the States. I went through hell and ended up with a job at a decent firm but they have decided against giving me a H1B because of costs. So, I kinda don't want to go through this shit again. Don't get me wrong, I love America, college had been the best years of my life. And I would prefer to get a job here in the States but I am apprehensive afters my experience.

So, I was wondering if people can provide a solid valuation of the programs and recommendations. Thank you.

So the decision is UTA vs. Nova or this WUSTL Singapore program.

I like the new WUSTL/SMU collaboration. Seems really cool also. I think UTA and Nova will give you a decent shot when it comes to FT recruiting, but as you already know, getting a job as an international will be harder than for a domestic student.

With that said, you seem to be resigned to working overseas. Since this might be the case, how come you didn't look at other top, big name international programs? They would carry more weight than this new WUSTL program. Just a thought.

I wasn't even thinking of going overseas until my employers decided not to file H1B for me. That has taken time to sink in and of late I have become more apprehensive of the whole process. I actually applied for the MSF at WUSTL and got bumped to dual degree.

I don't think I have the grades or GMAT for LSE. As, I have heard they are very numbers focused. I have a 3.4, 650. I have a solid work experiences which I think played the biggest factor for my admissions.@"TNA" What finance programs do you think carries weight internationally?

It seems that you have your heart set on WUSTL-Singapore. WUSTL is a great program and if you want to work in Asia, SMU is a good brand. You can always come back after three years or so for an MBA to the States.

Thank you all for replying. I posted this just after being accepted to WUSTL so I was very excited. Now that it has sunk in I am between Nova and WUSTL- Singapore.

@"TNA" I want to thank you especially for your website. It has helped me immensely and more importantly I think it has been a real force behind the popularity of the MSF degree. As you said, Nova gives me a decent chance, I might wanna take that up. I went to UNC Kenan-Flagler undergrad so I have a decent alumni network behind me already. Can you give me any idea about the recruiting at Nova? Thanks a lot.
