New Analytical Accounting and Finance Specialization AFM Specialization

I haven't seen anyone break the news on this forum, but to let the business world and grade 12 students know if they haven't already seen it on the uWaterloo site, AFM has a new specialization, "Analytical Accounting and Finance Specialization," which starts from first year, unlike most specializations which begin from year 3. It still allows you to take the Professional Accountant Specialization to take the MAcc 8-month master program to bypass CPA modules. Pic included for the tentative route for two specializations. I'm in y1 1A, and I've taken 115. It's going really well, and I wish I had tested my potential even further and chosen 135. I plan on taking 136 in 1B as well because I feel like I could handle it, and I could set myself up for a computing minor image-20230930130954-1

Hey there, thanks for sharing this exciting news about the new "Analytical Accounting and Finance Specialization" at uWaterloo! It's always great to see universities adapting and offering new specializations that cater to the evolving needs of the business world.

It's interesting that this specialization starts from the first year, which is quite unique as most specializations usually begin from the third year. This early start could provide students with a more in-depth understanding and a head start in their chosen field.

Also, the fact that it still allows students to take the Professional Accountant Specialization and the MAcc 8-month master program to bypass CPA modules is a great advantage.

It sounds like you're doing really well in your first year and it's great to hear that you're considering taking on more challenges. A computing minor could be a fantastic complement to your accounting and finance specialization. Keep up the good work and continue to push your potential!
