New University to rival Oxford and Cambridge

A bit late, also all it does is takes the University of London international programme and sells it to students at ridiculous fees while trying to pretend you will be taught by famous celebrity lecturers who are only supposed to teach a couple of lectures

I would have gone just for Niall Ferguson, love that guy.

"After you work on Wall Street it’s a choice, would you rather work at McDonalds or on the sell-side? I would choose McDonalds over the sell-side.” - David Tepper

^ Ferguson also teaches at Harvard, I think.

It's "for profit" and charges an insane amount for something that students could get elsewhere for half as much. Simply put, it's a scam.

For international students price is exactly the same.

^ Yeah, but it's still a FOR-PROFIT school. The people who are running this "college" only started it to make a quick buck. Hardly prestigious, or even legitimate. That should be enough to convince anyone with even half a brain to stay away.

Also, the degrees are the same as the University of London's. So, what exactly is the the point of this?

I have no idea about the reputation of the University, as I have never ever even been to UK even once. But the stats of the University are also impressive

Top-15 Guardian Ranking, highest student satisfaction ratio, 100% job or further studies within 6 months.

This is so confusing that the word on the street is generally negative but the stats are impressive.

I know a number of the academics associated with the new institution on a personal level and have no doubt that it's a genuine, veritable endeavour. I really can't see it catching on though, certainly not enough to attract the very best students- or academics. It will be marginal.
