Not Good at School, but Good at Life?

Hey guys, currently a junior going to a boutique this summer. Do any of you ever feel like you suck at school, but still manage to do well for career opportunities? I currently barely have a 3.6 (had a 2.9 last semester) and am worried it's going to eventually catch up in work. Professors all love me but I just have a tough time at tests. Anyone know someone like that in this industry that managed to do phenomenally? Is this something to even worry about? Thanks!

Idk man those are prob rarer than those who are god tier at school. Most of the time it sounds like heavy copium.

Also 3.6 is good enough for finance. Majority of the people that think this don't even graduate high school. A large number of university students truly believe in Cs get degree. No idea why you are worried about bad at school

Better to be good at life. You’ll do much better in your career as someone who can manage people, navigate relationships and communicate effectively.

You won’t be differentiated in your professional career because you got an A+ instead of a B+ on an exam. Maybe in a field like medicine or engineering, but certainly not in finance.

Dude holy shit I thought I was the only one. I’m a senior going to start FT at a BB M&A group this summer and I have barely a 3.5 from a public school + non diversity. I feel like everything I’ve accomplished in life so far has been pure luck. My dumb ass has dug myself into so many ridiculous holes (ditched class for almost an entire year of high school, got arrested when I was 18, slept through multiple final exams, got no return from my SA bank, slept thru interviews, the list goes on) and every time I think “this is it, I really fucked myself over this time” but somehow I always finesse my way out of it and come out just fine. Ppl talk abt how “imposter syndrome” is normal in banking but idk man. I know eventually I’ll get my karma but at this point I’ve accepted it - if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s just how fucking random life is. Good things happen to ppl who don’t always deserve it and vice versa. Growing up I was always told it’s abt who’s the smartest, who works the hardest, etc. nah. It’s abt the luck of the draw, playing your cards right, and making sure no one calls your bluffs. maybe this shit will catch up to u eventually. But if you’ve made it this far it sounds like you’ll bounce back just fine
