Notre Dame or Fordham undergrad?
I was recently accepted to Fordham as a Gabelli Scholar. However, I was also offered a spot in Notre Dame’s gateway program, which requires a year at Holy Cross College with a 3.5 GPA and then guaranteed transfer to Notre Dame. I’m trying to decide which school would put me in a better position to break into IB or MBB. I know Fordham has a solid IB pathway with its proximity to NYC, but obviously Notre Dame has much better placement. The only thing I would have to worry about at Notre Dame is getting into Mendoza from the Gateway program, as I cannot find any statistics about it.
I am a current ND student. While I don't know the statistics for Gateway to Mendoza, I can say that I know a decent number of Gateway students end up transferring to Mendoza. Even then, recruiting is major agnostic and I know a couple of people who ended up placing well despite not being in Mendoza.
ND IMMEDIATELY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ANOTHER FORDHAM BUMMMMM.
ND
ND
What are you paying per year at both schools? Also why didn't you apply to Baruch? They place better for IB in NYC and is dirt cheap. I deeply regret not applying there.
Notre Dame for sure, though both are on the lower end of semi targets to total non targets in this market.
Lmao ND is not a semi target they placed just as well as they usually do in the SA 25 cycle
In this market, everything but top targets are considered semi targets
I am a current ND student. Just finished recruiting for SA 25 roles (landed a good gig but don't wanna out myself here so won't say name), but I think I can speak to where you want to be. I know several gateway students who have done really well after the first year at hocro. I would also add that there is not a stigma to being gateway, I've got several friends now who were in the program and frankly that whole class is usually cooler than the average ND student. I also think the 3.5 cutoff to get in forces you to be serious in first year, so you have a great GPA coming into recruiting. I know several gateway students who placed really well in this cycle and in previous ones.
ND also has tons of resources for recruiting that Fordham doesn't. SIBC alone is a huge value add, our investment club is one of the best in the country, and we have OCR from every major bank/PE firm.
Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.
Hey could you pm me please, I’m an incoming freshman with some questions.
Hey, incoming ND student. Is it okay if I dm you for some questions?
go for it
ND senior here. Shouldn’t be an issue getting into Mendoza from gateway as long as you do well. Def know some gateways who didn’t but the ones who were doing what they needed to do freshman year all got in. After that being at ND will be much better recruiting than Fordham. Have around 20 kids doing MBB after graduation and at least 150 doing IB. Have never met someone who was on top of their shit here who wanted IB and didn’t get an offer somewhere. Would definitely try to get as involved as possible while at Holy Cross and get on SIBC teams, join investment clubs, etc
Hey there, incoming Notre Dame student. Is it okay if I pm you for some questions?
