NYU Certificate or Columbia Post-Bachelors?
What's your opinion on using the non-credit hour classes offered at NYU as a way to build an alternate transcript? I'm looking to apply to their PT MBA program, but would love the FT program if I can get in. Columbia has a post-bach program designed to help you get into an MBA program, but the classes are all intro-finance, intro-marketing, etc classes that I took in UG. Now I have plenty of finance experience and just took CFA L2. Coming from a non-target, there's no way I'd be admitted for a Columbia MBA. But would their post-bach program be useful to get into another school? Aside from crushing the GMAT, would these options help make up for screwing off in UG and getting mediocre grades?
if its non-credit hour classes, you're not really building your alternative transcript. You need a grade.
^ The classes are still graded just as a regular class is, but the completion of them don't count toward a "degree". Only toward a certificate (for what that's worth). Same thing with Columbia's.
Can anyone else chime in?
