NYU Stern Part Time MBA for 1st year consultant

Hello,

I am currently a first year consultant at a boutique firm. The firm specializes in Financial Services and my department is within Lending. I was accepted into NYU Stern Part Time MBA program. Has anyone who is attending or attended the Part Time program have any insights on how the program helped their career. I am interested in a role at MBB or big 4 of course but I am asking more about how this program developed them into a better consultant.

Any other advice on moving from a boutique to a big 4 or MBB is also appreciated.

Thank you!

I attended a part time weekend program at Ross. I was able to get an internship in banking and many of my classmates had successful intern/ft recruiting outcomes. We had equal access to recruiting resources (no special name tags, etc) which I would say is crucial for recruiting. I'm graduating this year so we benefitted from a really strong recruiting environment. Writ large, the recruiting process is the same as fulltime. If you make the time for casing, events, and coffee chats then you shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully it is the same out here.

Are you in the Ann Arbor area? Curious on why you chose Ross for your MBA

I am a first year consultant, but I had 2 years of experience in fixed income finance, MBSs, CDOs, and other syndicated finance. I like consulting much much better hence the career change. NYU Part time MBA is in person  and is a 2-3 year program, I figure by my last year I'd have 4-6 years of total experience along side my MBA. What are your thoughts?
