NYU Stern vs. CMU CS

Which school should I go to between NYU Stern and CMU CS? Im not only focused on doing IB and I want to keep my options open. Which school would potentially make me the most money and what would this path look like?

If your sole goal is making the most money, go CMU, kick ass and go funds like D.E. Shaw, Two Sigma. Those pay much better than any possible job out of undergrad IMO. Only if you are smart enough to do so.

This. People don’t talk about these positions much, but if you get hired at a place like DE Shaw, you’re looking at $300k-$400k first year out of undergrad. I know people who were pulling these numbers personally. It’s fucking crazy.

I would go for CMU CS. Keeps more doors open than Stern. You could still do IB if you were at CMU, but you can’t really land quant type roles coming from Stern.

No personal experience with either, but I think that CMU's CS program is one of the best. IMO, that would open infinite doors for you, whether that be banking, FAANG, or whatever else you get interested in.
