Operations Analyst to MFE?
I'm starting as an operations analyst in a 2 year rotational program at a BB this summer, and I'm interested in getting a MFE degree after that because I want a job in the banking industry that involves a good amount of math/programming on a regular basis.
1) What are my chances of getting into a top 10 MFE program with:
-BS mechanical engineering
-3.6 gpa (probably about 5th out of 35 in my major)
-attended not well known, but well ranked mid-size public school
-beginner to intermediate C++, SQL, matlab, mathematica skills
-aforementioned work experience + various engineering/ finance internships throughout college
2) What else should I be doing over the next 2 years besides studying to ace the gmat/gre?
I already asked this on quantnet, but i figured I'd post it here too in case anyone has any insights.
Thank you!
